The Future of Farming: Delta Plastics H20 Initiative

Aug 18, 2014

The Future of Farming: Delta Plastics H20 InitiativeI am very excited to announce a new program which will change the future of farming. Delta Plastics H2O Initiative – A commitment to reduce irrigation water use by 20% within the Mississippi Delta by the year 2020.

This Initiative will provide Pipe Planner free to all farmers and we encourage farmers to utilize this valuable tool and join our team in preserving the Mississippi Delta’s irrigation water supply. We are creating a partnership between Delta Plastics, the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture, Mississippi State University and LSU AgCenter as well as other universities within the region. There will be educational forums for farmers, extension agents and private consultants focused on the implementation of Pipe Planner.

Pipe Planner’s innovative program dramatically reduces irrigation time, water usage and energy costs for growers through uniform water application across a field. If every irrigated acre in the Delta uses Pipe Planner, the US would save over 1 trillion gallons of water per year!

Conservation is a strong passion of mine and Delta Plastics is committed to sustainability in agriculture. We will continue to be a leading advocate for conservation through additional research and development of Pipe Planner. The H2O Initiative will serve as a positive resource for farmers across the Delta.

Please contact us at 1-800-277-9172 or if you have any further questions about the Delta Plastics H20 Initiative. We are proud to lead this important initiative.
