As we move forward into 2016, I would like to summarize a few high points from last year. For Delta Plastics it was a year of growth and change due to many factors from new markets, to low commodity prices and a new regulatory landscape (New Farm Bill) which impacts all corners of the agricultural world. So here are a few milestones and accomplishments from last year.
Accessories – Introduction and implementation of the Splice Device™. Introduction of the EZ Connect Poly-T, which is a flexible, recyclable, affordable polytube fitting. We continue to develop and introduce new products that add value to the irrigation process for our growers.
Polytube – continued expansion into new market areas including Georgia, Alabama, and Nebraska. Our South American operations continue to grow with the addition of two new full-time irrigation technicians.
Trade Shows – The opportunity to meet growers in person and shake your hand is one of the highlights of our year. We have expanded the number of shows we attend so we can meet more farmers and explain the Delta Plastics Advantage in person.
H2O Initiative – We are grateful for the continued work by the friends and stake holders that are a part of our H2O Initiative, and we are thrilled with the progress we are making together. We will continue to promote efficient irrigation management and water conservation across the Delta. Protecting our water resources is crucial for the future of irrigated farming.
More than 260,000 thousand acres are under Pipe Planner at the end of 2015. We plan to accelerate that number in 2016.
Recycling - After eclipsing one billion pounds of waste material recycled in 2014, we are actively working toward our two billion pound milestone.
We look forward to 2016 as we continue to find innovative ways to serve our customers.
