Dhu Thompson is Owner and Chairman of Delta Plastics, having acquired the company with his wife, Mary Ellen Cummins Thompson, in November 1996. Under Mr. and Mrs. Thompson’s leadership, Delta Plastics has been recognized as a leader in business innovation and sustainability, having twice received the Arkansas Business of the Year award, as well as the Keep Arkansas Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful awards. Mr. Thompson was previously named Corporate Conservationist of the Year and the Small Business Administration’s Person of the Year. Mr. Thompson is also the founder and Chairman of two other companies: Revolution Bag – a manufacturer of EPA compliant can liners made primarily from recycled Delta Plastics polytube; and U.S. Irrigation – a distributor of irrigation equipment and supplies to farmers.
A graduate of Louisiana State University School of Banking in Baton Rouge, he holds a BA in liberal arts from Northeast Louisiana University. Before starting Delta Plastics, Thompson was a commercial banker for more than 18 years, serving as Vice President and Head of Private Banking for Monroe’s Bank One. An avid outdoorsman, Thompson possesses a constant drive to help preserve our country’s natural resources and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for The Nature Conservancy. He and Mrs. Thompson have three sons and are members of St. James United Methodist Church in Little Rock.
Sean Whiteley is Chief Executive Officer of Delta Plastics and has spent his career advising, managing and investing in middle-market privately-held businesses. Prior to joining Delta, he served as an officer at BlackArch Partners, a middle-market transaction advisory firm based in Charlotte, N.C. Before that, he worked in the private equity industry at Olympus Partners and Weston Presidio making direct investments in businesses across a variety of sectors -- from food and agriculture to restaurants and retail. In addition to Delta Plastics, Mr. Whiteley is also the CEO of two other companies: Revolution Bag – a manufacturer of EPA compliant can liners made primarily from recycled Delta Plastics polytube; and U.S. Irrigation – a distributor of irrigation equipment and supplies to farmers.
Mr. Whiteley graduated summa cum laude from Duke University with a BA in economics and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School, graduating with high distinction as a Baker Scholar. He and wife, Laura, have three children.
